Boys & Girls Clubs of Chaffee County is part of the national Boys & Girls Clubs of America which has over 4000 clubs and serves millions of youngsters.
It's mission is to enable all youth to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsbile citizens.
The Salida Club is open to students in 1st-8th grades including home schoolers and those attending private school. The Club is located in the old St. Joseph's School at 340 E. 5th St. Phone is 539-9500. It operates daily on school days, 3-7 pm, with extended hours on early release days. During school vacations and the summer, a full day program is offered.
Cost for the afternoon programs is ONLY $25/child/year!
The Club is a place for students to gain new friends, do homework and understand the importance of education, express their creativity, engage in active physical activities, learn about volunteering, have a nutritious snack and learn about good eating habits, be supported by caring adults, participate in nationally PROVEN curriculums such as Smart Moves, Triple Play, and Tech Club, and HAVE FUN!

FREE NURTURING PARENTING PROGRAM CLASS

Parents and their Adolescents (ages 10 - 18) are invited to register
for Salida's Free Nurturing Parenting Program Class!
This fun class will teach your family to communicate better, increase trust and
build stronger a relationship.
Classes begin September 21st and meet every Tuesday from 5:30 to 8pm
at the Garage Band (1201 E. Rainbow Blvd).
Dinner is served at each class and lots of great family incentives will be given away!

NEW! MONEY MATTERS CLASS
Calling all female teens and their mothers/mentors/female adult!!!
Boys & Girls Clubs of Chaffee County (Salida Branch) will be hosting a 4 session Money Matter's class for girls ages 12 - 18 and their mothers. Pregnant Teens and expecting teens up to age 20 can also enroll on their own.
Who: Daughters (ages 12 - 18) and their mothers/mentors OR teen mothers/expecting teens
What: Finance Class to learn budget, save money, invest, etc...
When: T/Th - Sept 14th, 16th, 21st, 23rd
Where: Boys & Girtls Club in Salida - 340 E. 5th Street
Other details: Dinner served, tool kits for all participants AND all teen graduates will receive a $ incentive!

Peaceful Parenting Classes with Sonnie McFarland start Tuesday, February 15, at Boys & Girls Clubs of Chaffee County, Salida Branch. It's not too late to sign up and we have room for several more families. Great for parents with children ages 5 - 10.
Classes: Tuesdays: Feb 16, 23rd and March 2nd from 5:30 - 7pm (snacks provided)

Family PLUS
Boys & Girls Clubs of Chaffee County now offers a national program called Family PLUS which is one component of the Chaffee County Community Health Collaborative strategy. Click here for the Family PLUS website: http://familyplus.bgca.org
Boys & Girls Club of Chaffee County Family PLUS grant was awarded through Kimberly-Clark. Family PLUS is a national Boys & Girls Club of America program. The grant is intended to strengthen and empower families through family support, programming, skills training and resources. Currently, BGC in Salida is offering Family Nights once month and various parent classes throughout the year. These programs will allow parents to spend time with their children in a fun, relaxed setting and learn new tools to help their family communicate and grow.
